Hi, A few issues from the trial if anyone wants to give their opinion on: 1) The nude exchange student photos found in Mr.Leiterman's home. 2) Mr. Leiterman was living in the vicinity of the murder sceneat the time of the murder? 3) Did he initially lie about where he lived at the time of the murder? 4) Did his roommate report that he have a collection of newspaper articles on the murder? 5) Then didn't he deny every hearing about Jane Mixer or her murder when he was questioned? 6) There have been many cases of killers straightening themselves out and becoming law abiding citizens. People that know him in recent times and say how great he is truly do not know what he may (or may not) have done years before. One similar case regarding a killer who gunned down a cop after a lovers' lane attack (48 Hours- the Ghosts of El Segundo). He was caught 40 years later by DNA and everyone thought it was a mistake. He later confessed. That case does not have the cross-DNA issues of this case but Mr. Leiterman was the right age and in the right location to have been the killer. That seems a bit coincidental compared to if he was living somewhere else or was too young at the time. Thoughts?

too dark a screen

I have a hp laptop and set the night screen for 9 and its only 4 and its too dark if I change it there it deletes the setting so where do I go to change brightness its windows 10?

Monitor brightness, contrast, gamma problem

Hi,

I have Windows XP SP2, 256 MB RAM, 32 MB TNT2 graphics card, LG Studioworks 563N monitor. Even though my monitor's brightness and contrast settings are set to full, the output is not that bright. Whenever I watch any video I have to increase the brightness and contrast through media player. The same thing happens with photos, I have to increase the brightness and contrast of the photos, to get a better view. Is there some problem with my computers gamma? I've got adobe gamma in my control panel. I've tried some other gamma changing utilies also, but they don't seem to work for the brightness and contrast?

Please help.

I'm having issues regarding my brightness with my desktop computer model number V9B09AA#ABA I have an external monitor I've attempted to update the drivers on it with no result I've done the same with my radeon graphics card with no results.

Display became too dark after installing Fall Creators Update

Hi,

I installed the Fall Creators Update for my PC, using the update assistant, after this update, everything is fine, but the display became too dark, it's not about the brightness, I think it is the contrast or gamma issue, blacks have become too black that I can't see everything properly, I'm using a Nvidia GTX 750 Ti GPU(graphics drivers are up to date) with LG IPS monitor. In the nvidia control panel, I changed the desktop color settings to 'use nvidia settings' , that solved the problem and made the display normal,but after a reboot, the dark display comes back again.

Please help.

Why aren't any MP3 download apps I install load search results?

Hi, Samsung Galaxy s5. Never had this problem before. I started getting error messages that some of the MP3 files I was downloading could not be supported. Now everytime I do a search, it comes up with 'no results found' I have installed and uninstalled many different downloader apps and all the same result. I deleted all my music in case any mp3 file was infected. now I have no music, and no way to get it back? Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. Which Y-DNA Test should I push for next?

I would put this in the section for Paternal Testing, except there I have to choose between asking about STR or asking about SNP -- and my question straddles the two. I convinced someone I believe to be my second cousin - his father's father the brother of my father's father - to do the Family Finder Test. It also indicated we are second cousins, and also indicated that his first cousin, another grandchild of the same grandfather, is my second cousin. My father and his brothers are all deceased. No male descendants of my father or his siblings. This cousin is my best bet to get YDNA info for my Father. When I bought the test, I promised him I would not order any other tests on it without his approval. Having confirmed the likely relationship (originally based on a good bit of circumstantial evidence only), I asked and he agreed to adding a YDNA Test, and I had YDNA-67 done. Since then, they have added a SNP Pack to the Tests he can order. When the SNP Pack was on sale a year or two ago, I contacted him again, and he said he did not want any more tests done at that time, he was sure it would be on sale again. So - he has not ruled out ever agreeing to more testing being done - but it is possible I will not be able to convince him

to do both tests. Which, if either, should I push hard to convince him to do next? Or ?

Mistaken results?

I've received some questionable results from FtDNA on my Origins. Some background and results:

I test 71% Eastern European and 27% BI FtDNA I test 58% Eastern European and 40% Ireland, Scotland Wales at Ancestry My mother tests 87% EE, 7% Finland, 6% SE Europe at FtDNA My mother tests 90% EE, 4% SE Europe, 2% SW Europe at 23andme One brother tests 40% EE, 21% British Isles, 19% SE Europe, 16% Scandinavian, 4% WE Europe at FtDNA plus Other brother tests 49.9% EE, 46% NW Europe, 2.8 SE Europe at 23andme. I think that the amount of EE in my Origins is too much! Also, my brothers' tests show more places of origin especially the one that tested at FtDNA. I don't think you would ever think we were siblings if you just compared our origins break down. Opinions?

Scots-Irish but only 8% British Isles?

In 1740 my Campbell ancestor came from Ireland. Genealogies I found online show that this line originally came from Argyll, Scotland, which makes total sense, given the family name. However, the My Origins map shows a 67% Central/Western Europe and only 8% British Isles?
How is that possible? Yes, 1000 or 2000 years ago my Celtic ancestors were on the Continent, but they were in Scotland and Ireland for many centuries after that.
Why only 8% British Isles???

My Origins results are 97% British Isles. My mother was full Norwegian (records back to 1600s). My Dad was full BI. I have 'matches' with all of my mother's surnames back to 1600s.

1) Could these results go back to Viking times when Vikings brought Irish men and women back to Norway as slaves and concubines? 2) Could all these Norwegian ancestors have BI DNA? Was there a British/Irish/Scottish invasion of the Sognefjord that we don't know about? 3) NPE? When? 4) Could I have inherited ONLY my father's DNA and somehow my mother's just disappeared? Why is there not even 1% Scandinavian showing when there are so many Norw. Matches in Norway and elsewhere?

Any help appreciated.

Is anyone familiar with FlipAlbum or similar?

Hello, One of the reasons I built my book scanner is to scan old photo albums and scrapbooks...my family's and others. I'd like to use a 3-D page flipping interface program so that the digital images from each scanned page can be viewed like turning the pages of a book. I've looked at FlipAlbum Vista Pro, but I'm sure there are others. Does anyone have experience with any of these type programs...any information - good, bad or otherwise would be helpful. I like the idea of being able to put these on a plug and play CD - from what I understand, I could do that with FlipAlbum Pro.

I saw this story on Discovery ID this afternoon and haven't been able to think of anything else since.... I am wondering if there was ever any investigation of John Ruelas' family or whomever would have been taking care of him at the time. Did anyone ever speak to him about any childhood memories he may have. Did anyone in his family have a green station wagon? Did they ever have a reason to be in that area? Did anyone in his family know Jane? The state wants us to believe that there was no contamination in that lab but they cannot explain how that boy's blood was found on Jane??? I don't know if Gary is innocent or not but the DNA evidence is all that I can see they have against him and it STINKS! I am going to contact Artis White about this case.
