I watched this program today with my husband, whom works in law enforcement. We were appalled by:1.the prosecuter chose to charge Gary for this crime and 2. that the jury actually found him guilty. It was obvious to us that the lab made a mistake in the DNA with both the man that was 4 years of age, his blood was on her left hand? How could that have happened? And Gary's DNA was found on the pantyhose when he never owned the car that was seen speeding away from the crime scene. The lab did not allow their procedures to be taped. Obviously, someone screwed up in the lab. It was obvious that Gary's DNA from the Vicodin prescription fraud and the man that killed his mother was mixed up in the Mixer DNA as it was analyzed at the same time. Too much faith is placed on DNA. Why was it reasonable to say there was a mistake in the DNA from the man that was a child at the time, but not a mistake with Gary's? That makes absolutely no sense! And wouldn't the jury have asked themselves the same thing? And, as a juror, I would have asked why the lab didnt let themselves be taped. Gary's lawyer was pathetic and should have researched the number of mistakes the lab has made in other cases, etc. The other thing that puzzles me is Jane's DNA wasn't on the pantyhose even when she was menstruating? The prosecuter accused Gary of sexual assault but there was no evidence of semen, epithelial cells. I am so sorry to you Gary and to your family. I pray that you will get an appeal for a new trial and the conviction be overturned! God Bless!

I searched the internet a lot and the indications are that his last appeal was denied and he is still in prison. There is a record of a current lawsuit by Gary Leiterman apparantly against the warden of his prison but I couldn't find out much about it. As I've posted before.....I wish someone in the family or his lawyer would make updates to the site to indicate what's going on with him and where his case stands. ID keeps showing the same show over and over and nobody ever updates this site.
