What are the odds?
Upon hearing the facts about the DNA evidence in the case, my very first question is has someone smarter than me run the true odds of a situation like this occurring?1) Both Leiterman & Ruelas ended up having criminal records so that their DNA ended up in the "system" vs there being an unknown DNA hit on DNA.2) Both these men whose DNA was "found" on Mixer live in Michigan - so low & behold, their DNA was run in the Michigan crime lab, setting the stage for potential human error and maybe a cover up by the lab afterwards.3) Lab couldn't pinpoint DNA origin.4) DNA from killer supposedly survived from 1969, but the DNA from victim didn't?5) Blood from 4-year-old boy on Mixer's hand. What woman would allow this to stay on her hand? Likely happened at time of death. Good indication the lab made a mistake. (Twice.) & if they didn't this would be MORE compelling, because women don't walk around with other peoples' blood on their bodies! which would mean whoever the 4 y/o was with that night likely killer Mixer

a theory,,,?

Did mixer have any room mates? Maybe she was wearing one of her room mate's panty hose. And maybe Gary had sex with one of those room mates while she was wearing those panty hose (before the murder)? Mixer puts on the panty hose (unwashed) and goes wherever she went...maybe babysitting (could explain why a 4 year old's blood was found on her hand)....Any thoughts??

I'd like to know the details surrounding the actual DNA testing. how degraded the samples were... how many alleles were included in the profile... what the probability is of false results when certain alleles fail to show up due to the age of the sample. I'd like to see what a defense expert has to say regarding forensic DNA testing in this kind of setting.
